Get Your Business Online: Join Our Free Workshop on Thursday, September 10th!
A few weeks ago, we wrote a blog announcing that we’re going to to be hosting a Google workshop to help Vermont local businesses get online. We’re excited to announce that we have scheduled a date for our GYBO (Get Your Business Online) workshop. Please save the date for: Thursday, September 10th, 2015. This event will take place at 5:30 pm.
We will be hosting the event at our Burlington Bytes office, located at 2 Church Street, Suite 101, in the Richardson Place building located at the top of Church Street. Our presentation will help you Get Found on Google Search and Maps, and explain how to set up Google My Business, a free tool that helps you manage information displayed to customers on Google Search and Maps. The presentation time will be 10 minutes and the attendee work time will be 20 minutes (to set up Google My Business and start the verification process).
You may be wondering why Google is offering this service? Google states that “Local businesses are vital to America’s economic future. In fact, small businesses comprise half of the U.S. GDP and create two-thirds of all new jobs. And although nearly all consumers look online for products and services, many small businesses do not have any web presence at all. They believe every small business should be found online and they offer the ability to do this through Google products like Google Maps – for free. Businesses want to be found by their customers. Customers want to find updated information about local businesses. Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map was designed to help strengthen our communities by connecting local businesses and customers so they can easily support each other”.
