Hannah Hook

Digital Marketing Specialist

Hannah graduated from Champaign College with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and a specialization in digital marketing in 2019. She focused her classes on web design and when she started working at Bytes.co during the pandemic as a Creative Assistant on the Engineering team she got to put these skills to use by building out content for new client websites. Shortly after, she transitioned over to the Client Services team as a Support Engineer, supporting and maintaining hundreds of client websites. Now she works as a Digital Marketing Specialist managing SEO and SEM projects for a wide variety of clients. Since she has worked in (almost) all of Bytes.co departments, she has a well-rounded understanding of how the company operates.

As a native Vermonter, Hannah takes advantage of the four seasons the Green Mountain State has to offer. In the spring you can find her disc golfing all across the state, in the summer she’ll be hammocking by Lake Champlain with one of the many thriller novels from her book collection, in the fall she may be taking her Surly on an overnight bikepacking trip along the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail, and in the winter she’ll be snowboarding and Nordic skiing on the beautiful mountainside.

Hannah’s idea of relaxing at the end of a long day is scrolling through TikTok for hours on end, rewatching Criminal Minds and NCIS for the umpteenth time, or hanging out on Inis Oirr (her home away from home on Animal Crossing).

Fun Facts About Hannah

I love a good deal and have a hard time saying no to something on sale. But the only thing I regularly splurge on is my collection of Vans sneakers (which is now up to 12 😬). The reason I love Vans is that their variety of designs and colors allow me to show a part of my personality through my footwear.

I am also a hoarder of memories. Studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland allowed me to explore many locations that I never imagined. As I went to each new place I kept a small memento as a souvenir. This was usually a ticket stub from the location that I visited. Over the course of the semester, I covered the wall of my room with these ticket stubs. I kept these as a reminder of all the amazing experiences and cultural immersions I had. Being able to have a visual of everything I did has made me more grateful for each opportunity. A few of my favorites were:

  • The Cliffs of Moher
  • Giant’s Causeway
  • Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
  • Inis Oírr Island (the place I named my Animal Crossing Island after)
  • Doolin Cave (Biggest stalactite in the world)
  • Ballintoy Harbor (Game of Thrones filming location for Pyke)

  • Dirty Dancing – Time of my Life (Final Dance)

Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies and I’ve probably seen it 50+ times. The last dance scene is iconic, enough said.
  • Microwave Popcorn

Bo Burnham’s sense of humor is so relatable to me. His music and comedy have brought me so many laughs over the years and brightened darker days. Especially his Inside special filled all alone in his apartment during the pandemic.
  • It’s Corn

For me, I really like corn. It’s always amazed me how a short clip on the internet can go viral. Apps like Vine (R.I.P.) and TikTok can take an audio clip and turn it into a trend that everyone wants as the background sound to their video. The reason I like this song so much is that corn on the cob has always been one of my favorite things to eat. Every year at the fair I always get a corn cob on a stick even though I could eat it any time during the year. I also have fond memories of roasting corn around the campfire during our camping adventures. If you haven’t heard this song, take a corn break and give it a listen!

I’m seeing a corn theme here…. 🌽
