Swan Island Dahlias: Platinum Winner in the SEM Campaign Category

Bytes.co’s award-winning SEM campaign centered around our collaboration with Swan Island Dahlias, one of the leading dahlia growers in the United States. With nearly a century of experience cultivating over 370 varieties of dahlias in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Swan Island Dahlias is committed to producing the highest quality flowers for generations to come.

Our search engine marketing (SEM) journey with Swan Island Dahlias began in 2020, when we identified key opportunities to elevate their online presence. Recognizing the potential to expand their digital footprint, we developed a highly optimized Google Ads strategy that would drive significant online sales growth. By continually testing and refining various campaign types, we unlocked new ways to maximize their reach and conversions.

A breakthrough moment came with the implementation of our Performance Max campaign, which became the driving force behind Swan Island Dahlias’ record-breaking growth. Through an optimized combination of product feed enhancements, highly targeted keywords and search themes centered on “dahlias”, and audience segmentation, we achieved an extraordinary return on ad spend (ROAS) of 40.35x between January 2023 and September 2024.

This performance far exceeds the industry average of 3x ROAS, setting a new benchmark for eCommerce advertising success. Our strategic shift from a traditional Shopping campaign to Performance Max further optimized their results, improving total Google Ads ROAS by 15.20% and increasing revenue by an impressive 47.65% from September 2022 to September 2024.

Jude Connally: Gold Winner in the SEO Campaign Category

The winning entry that earned Bytes.co the Gold AVA award in SEO focused on our collaboration with Jude Connally, a New Jersey-based women’s clothing brand dedicated to creating stylish, comfortable, and American-made women’s clothing.

Our work aimed to enhance their organic search visibility, engagement, and conversions, driving measurable results that reinforced their online presence. By strategically optimizing category pages, seasonal collections, and trending product topics, we improved Jude Connally’s search rankings. We targeted high-value keywords such as “American-made dresses,” “women’s skirts,” and “resort wear for women” to align with customer search intent and increase organic visibility.

Our team focused on refining metadata, enhancing on-page content, and strengthening internal linking to create a seamless user experience that also satisfied search engine algorithms. As of December 2024, our efforts have led to:

  • A 213.46% increase in the number of keywords ranked in the Top 3 search positions.
  • A 1,709.09% increase in visibility across Google’s Search Engine Results Page (SERP) features, including Explore Brands, Knowledge Panels, and Local Pack listings.
  • A 59.98% year-over-year increase in organic traffic between May 2023 and May 2024.
  • A 65.6% increase in transactions and a 64.4% increase in revenue, primarily driven by optimized category and collection pages.
