Andy’s Dandys

A family-run bakery based in Richmond, Vermont that makes delicious dog treats.

Andy’s Dandys was inspired by the family’s son Andrew, combining his love of baking with his love for his dog Rosie. Andrew’s Down syndrome also played a large role in the creation of the company, as his family wanted to ensure that he and others with disabilities would have the opportunity to have fulfilling careers. As a result, Andy’s Dandys was born: a bakery that makes dog treats in fun Vermont flavors with 100% human-grade ingredients, while also providing meaningful employment to those with disabilities.

The Challenge

We first met the Andy’s Dandys crew when they approached our team about re-platforming their Squarespace website to Shopify at the end of 2020. Since they had recently undergone a branding refresh, they wanted a new website to better highlight this in advance of making a bigger push into digital marketing and online sales. Furthermore, in keeping with their mission of inclusivity for all, they also wanted to ensure that their new website would be built to be accessible to everyone.

Our Approach

Our team built Andy’s Dandys a new Shopify website that allows them to grow their eCommerce business and better share their mission with the world. We accomplished this via a clean front-end design, the integration of detailed information on product pages, a blog for company announcements, and the incorporation of their social media channels on their website. As requested, we also built their new website with a front-end design that to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards, along with SEO best practices for further online growth.
