Bytes.co Clients Making A Difference Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

Skida mask

There is no shortage of news in 2020. Most of the time it’s not always the positive news we are hoping to hear. However, every once in a while, we read reports about individuals and businesses stepping up and making a difference during these unprecedented times. And while as a country we don’t agree on everything, I’m sure we can all agree that we would much rather hear good news like this.

Several of our very own Bytes.co clients are the very businesses rising to the occasion. Businesses including Skida, Downs Rachlin Martin (DRM), the University of Vermont, and J Skis have all switched gears to help others amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Skida

Your local, U.S. made winter headwear and accessories manufacturer has recently become your local mask manufacturer. Skida is known for its high quality products, trendy patterns, and comfortable materials all over the country. However, since the pandemic began, Skida has begun to focus its attention on the demand for masks by selling them to the public.

Since masks are a new product for Skida, they reached out to the professionals (the staff at UVM Medical Center) to find out what makes a good mask in their opinion, then took a leap of faith from there. So far, Skida has sold out their masks in just minutes after making them available to purchase online both each they have launched the product.

Skida has also instituted a mask donation initiative. Since their masks aren’t medical grade, Skida donating a large number of masks to non-medical organizations who are playing an intricate roles in the community and they need your help in finding these organizations. If you know of a non-medical organization in need of masks, fill out this form for Skida.

In addition, Skida has developed a new product known as The Helper Headband. This headband was designed with buttons on the sides to relieve ear pain caused by the masks. Rather than strapping the bands around the ears, the bands can be strapped around the buttons. Skida is selling these headbands to healthcare professionals at a much lower cost but they are also available for all consumers.

J Skis

Last but certainly not least, the owner of J Skis, Jason Levinthal, a long time digital marketing client of Bytes.co, has set his eyes on another prize since the pandemic. While J Skis typically spends its winter months manufacturing ski gear, this winter has played out a bit differently than most with the season being cut much shorter than any other year.

Make Exchange Website Options

With the demand for ski gear decreasing rapidly amidst the pandemic, Jason decided it was time to refocus his energy on something that would benefit the community. With the help of his good friends from White Room Custom Skis, he created a website, Maker Exchange, that matches safety equipment manufacturers with businesses, like hospitals, in need of their products.

We are so proud of Jason as well as all of our other clients who have reworked their products, services, and strategies during the pandemic and focused their efforts on aiding the community through these uncertain times.
