Bytes Founder, Peter Jewett, Speaks at 2019 Champlain College Commencement

Peter Jewett Speaking at Champlain College Commencement

The First Attempt:

I’ve always been entrepreneurial. I built my first geocities website in a Lego Robotics class during my sophomore year of High School.  My friends and I quickly figured out how to repurpose referral urls from display ads and created a lucrative “Free Stuff” website that year, our parents were all alarmed when checks started appearing out of thin air.  I was hooked.

..Try, Try Again:

After a disastrous freshman year of college studying Electrical Engineering at UNH, I went back to the drawing board and created a Skiing and Snowboarding Classifieds site while working as a snowmaker/groomer at Big Sky in Montana.  When I returned to college, I signed up for the e-Business Management program at Champlain College, which morphed into an eBay Drop Off Store called GoTradingPost.  I ran that business through my 3.5 years at College and helped found the BYOBiz program for other student entrepreneurs.

Hard Work Pays Off:

Burlington Bytes/Bytes.co is the product of my various business successes and failures over the years so I was pumped when I received an invitation to speak at the 2019 Champlain College Commencement on the subject of entrepreneurship.  Thanks so much to Champlain for the opportunity, hopefully, the grads and guests enjoyed my 4 minutes of fame.  You can see the video below:
